Project settings

Settings -> Environment settings -> Project settings

Projects allow you to track specific work-related expenses and income. Projects can be assigned to purchase and sales invoices, financial transactions and also when preparing payroll calculations.

Creating a project

  1. Code – a unique project code
  2. Name – the project name or a short description
  3. Main project – marked if subprojects are in use. The main project must be added first, followed by the subproject(s). Typically not used.

When adding projects, they can be searched by both code and name.

In the project code, you are allowed to use hyphens, periods, numbers, uppercase letters and lowercase letters.

The recommended length for a project code is up to 10 characters.

The system will display an error message and prevent the project from being saved if the project code contains spaces or special characters (such as _ @ + ; % , !).

If you no longer wish to use a project, it can be deactivated by clicking the “Active” button.

Project filter
The project filter will appear in the accounting reports (main ledger, daybook, balance sheet, profit and loss statement) if at least one project has been entered in the settings.

Reports -> Project report provides an overview of the projects added to purchase and sales invoices, receipts, payments and salary calculations.

If the project has only been entered in a financial transaction, this information will not be reflected in the project report. However, you can retrieve this data from the financial statements.

You can read the guide on adding projects to documentsHow to add a project (invoices, payroll, transactions)?“.
